How long had it been since Carlisle had been hunting? His eyes were onyx black and the thirst made it hard for Carlisle to fully concentrate.Having been overloaded with work , there simply had been no time to hunt .The rest of His family had hunted earlier in the week so Carlisle was alone , which was a rare occurrence.
The dark red blood dripped onto His pale hands as the vampire quenched His thirst with a vixen , sitting on a tree stump. The sereneness and peaceful atmosphere of the dark woods felt so calming . The scent of the dead animal mingled with the scents of the plants and other animals around the area . Yet one .. one was not familiar to Carlisle. Not necessarily an animal , yet not Human either.A Werewolf perhaps?
Carlisle stood slowly , the corpse of the female fox falling to the floor . He wiped at His mouth repeatedly , checking that no blood remained on His face as Carlisle started to walk in the direction of the strange scent. What was there?

* `vampires will never hurt you
Xx------------------------------- Zara had been walking, all alone in wolf form, in the forest, an aimless wandering that had become a central part of herself, an old habit that brought with it peace which often escaped her when she concentrated on something. This wandering was out of habit, rather than nessecity, the very habit that had brought her to this place. It was nothing unusual, then, that she hadn't been paying attention to where her feet had taken her, that she had only been aware of time's passage, in quick, unsteady seconds, and slow, dragging hours as the mysterious forest rolled by like the scenery flying by a car window; only, it seemed, this car was flying at the speed of light, though the forest was still an intelligible canvas of greens and browns, it's perfect clarity unaffected by the speed of the observer. Not a sound - no snapping of twigs under her paws, no rustling of leaves in the wind oof her passage - not a hushed fragment of sound indicated that Zara was actually moving, that her paws actually graced the soft earth. Nothing. All was still in the flying forest.
A cool wind suddenly picked up, blowing the scent of wet earth and rain into her sensitive, flared nostrils... And - oh! The scent of blood, and the sickly sweet, icy burning in her nose alerted her to the presence of a vampire, not very far away. Then the turbulent wind shifted again, so that she was upwind from the vamp. This is not good, not good! A frantic voice informed her. Without her sense of smell to tell her of the vamp's position, she ws very nearly blind. Only her exceptional eyesight could track the vampire's movement's now. Her feet sped up, her lithe, white body becoming a blur as she raced, unwillingly, toward the owner of the offensive, burning smell. She didn't want to go there; she would surely loose a fight with any vampire, no matter how small, but her mindm whirling at top speed with excitement, urged her dragged legs forward, 'till she was stretched out in full sprint. Even as she sped up more, the forest still remained unblurred, constant, reassuring in it's presence around her thin, wolf body. The wind increased, only this time, it was of her own making, a product of her insane speed, not Mother Nature's creation.
She skidded to a halt when she saw the vampire, sitting on a stump with the body of a fox at his feet. Zara snorted, the scalding, icy scent of the vampire even more concentrated now, trying to rid her lungs of the smell, though she needed the oxygen badly. She sat down on her haunches, nose in the air, twitching, as if to find some pocket of air that was untainted by the reeking stench of vampire. Even on her haunches, she was still taller than the vamp, though she was a tiny werewolf, all things considered. She inhaled again, to feed her starved lungs, and yelped when that breath stabbed her throat with icy, jagged knives of the stench. Her eyes narrowed calculatingly as she looked over the vampire; she wouldn't risk human form.

Carlisle couldn't help but let out a small laugh as He saw the werewolf skid to a halt in front of Him.The laughter was friendly , sounding warm and inviting.Obviously Carlisle was not threatened in the slightest by the wolf that had joined Him."So I was right..it was a werewolf around here."He spoke quietly , looking up at the wolf with now topaz eyes.
It seemed strange , thought Carlisle , that He did not recognize this wolf. The temporary alliance between the Cullens and werewolves meant that Carlisle could remember Who some of them ,no matter what form They were in . However , this one was different.. She kept a lot of difference between the two , and She seemed in pain from the scent of Him.
"It's alright.Vampires will never hurt You..at least the ones around here. The werewolves have been useful allies , and We value the treaty too much.Surely You know of the treaty , Yes?"He spoke calmly.

* `vampires will never hurt you
Xx------------------------------- Zara was startled by the sound of the vampires laughter; it wasn't the menacing I'm-going-to-kill-you, 'Muahahaha!!' laugh she'd been expecting from a vampire. It was friendly, inviting, casual; like the laugh between two friends ove coffee, after a good joke had been told. The sound itself was very pleasent, musical and cadenced, uttering in a perfect, litling style that only the most beauftiful voice could achieve. Not one syllable of the enchanting chuckle was menacing. Not even remotely 'Muahahaha!!!' like. She was disappointed, somehow, that the vamp had not measured up to her sterotypical preconcieved notions of leech - she'd learned this was a very popular nickname for vampires that werewolves often used, though Zara personally never used it - behaviour. Her forehead wrinkled slightly, as one ear slid down, almost horizontal, and one flickered to the top of her head to catch the remaining, echoed bits of his laugh, giving her a comical, confused look as she tried to sort out the vamp's unusual manners.
"So I was right.. it was a werewolf around here," The vampire said, glancing up at Zara with golden eyes. She didn't know what surpised her more; his lovely voice, or his eyes. Subconsciouly, she had been expecting bloodred eyes. But, like the voice, it was much nicer than the stereotypes she'd believed before this meeting. Strange... Though everything about this vampire's behaviour was more than proper and disconcerting, she was still very wary about every movement, analyzing every possible situation in minute scrutiny, and sketching out her escape plan, should she ever need to run for it, though she seriously doubted it.
"It's alright. Vampires will never hurt you.. at least the ones around here. The werewolves have been useful allies, and we value the treaty too much. Surely you know of the treaty, yes?" The vampire spoke again, his tone questioning, but calm. Zara was too busy calculating every movement of his to notice the perfect intonation of his voice again; she's already documented that as a characteristic of vampires, and was too wary to be caught off guard by some unusal habit or characteristic again. She paid more attention to the words, and then something struck her. "Vampires will never hurt you.. at least the ones around here," He'd said. 'Ones'?! There was more than one vampire around here? Whoa, whoa, whoa! Back this truck up! She sniffed the air discreetly again, ignoring the icy stabs in her nose. This time, she could easily seperate the scents of at least 7 vampires out of the singular smell she'd though it was. It wasn't all the same scent, as she'd previously thought, but rather, a collective bunch of individually, faintly, almost indiscernibly different manifestations of the same, basic scent. Oh boy.
But she returned her easily divided attention back to the vampire in front of her, repeating the words over in her mind. So, the werewolves and vampires around here were allies. Did she no of some treaty? Her father had mentioned something like that in passing, but, no, she didn't. Zara shook her head uncertainly, wondering if it would be too dangerous to change into human form, Indescision was clear on her wolfish face as her ears pressed back against the thick ruff of long, silky white hair that lined her neck, and her eyes narrowed.

Carlisle was surprised when the werewolf shook Her head."No?Hmm..I thought all werewolves in forks had.I'll try to explain."Carlisle said before pausing a second to clear His throat."When the Vampires first came to Forks ,We encountered the Quileutes , Who were a tribe of werewolves .Just keep in mind that this had to be around..twenty five to fifty years ago."
"You obviously know already that it is unusual for Werewolves and Vampires to get along. So I made a treaty with the leader. In exchange for letting Us stay in Forks peacefully , We are not allowed to change or harm a human . We are also not allowed in La Push.I think that the treaty would be broken if We harmed a werewolf , as well."He finished , before realising how scary that sounded. "Not that any of the vampires here would , of course. We are what You could call 'Vegetarian ' Vampires. We feed off Animals and We have no problem with Humans."Carlisle added , reassureingly.
"I myself am immune to Human Blood , I find no temptation in it whatsoever. This comes in handy as I am a doctor at the hospital."He said , smiling up at the wolf.
"I'm sorry , I'm being Terribly rude here.My name is Carlisle Cullen. And You are?"

* `vampires will never hurt you
Xx------------------------------- Zara sat still for the time the vampire talked, listening to everything, her ears flickering madly back and forth to catch every word. The wind often picked up at the drop of a hat, snatching the words and throwing them up at the sky; she strained to catch all the syllables, documenting every word, the way it was said, and every casual movement in her mind with utmost care. This was her first upclose encounter with a vampire, and she wouldn't want to let it go unremembered. For all she knew, this could be her very last encounter, with anything, but she payed no mind to that very real possibility. "No? Hmm.. I thought all werewolves in Forks had. I'll try to explain. When the vampires first came to Forks, we encountered the Quileutes, who were a tribe of werewolves. Just keep in mind that this had to be around.. twenty five to fifty years ago," The vampire said, seeming surprised that she had no idea about the treaty between werewolves and vampires. Of course, her father had left that out when he explained to Zara what she'd become, and why. All the legends about the 'cold ones', every bit of knowlegde he'd had, he passed on to his only daughter. Well, almost everything. Why had he skipped out mention about this? It was obviously extremely important, and he didn't even tell her. Why? Because he thought she'd never meet with a vampire, much less travel to Forks? Because he knew that she would never need such important knowlegde? He had to have known that Zara would want to visit Forks some day, since she was exactly the same as he was. But why would he have left out such a vitally important piece of information, one that could possibly be the difference between life and death for his only daughter? The questions flew in answerless circles in her mind, and, giving up on trying to find answers to the queries, she payed more attention to the vampire's words.
"You obviously know already that it is unusual for werewolves and vampires to get along. So I made a treaty with the leader. In exchange for letting us stay in Forks peacefully, we are not allowed to change or harm a human. We are also not allowed in La Push. I think that the treaty would be broken if we harmed a werewolf, as well." Her breath came out in a defensive hiss at the mention of harming a werewolf. Her eyes narrowed, and her muzzle wrinkled back, exposing her long, dagger-like teeth that lined her mouth. Her shoulder hunched, every muscle in her body tensing, not only in agression, but also in fear as well. She mentally reviewed her escape plan in her mind, running it over until she had it down, but in the middle of her repetitive learning, the vampire spoke again, her mind easily distract from worst case scenario by his perfect voice. "Not that any of the vampires here would, of course. We are what you could call 'vegetarian' vampires. We feed off animals and we have no problem with humans. I myself am immune to human blood, I find no temptation in it whatsoever. This comes in handy as I am a doctor at the hospital," The vampire said calmly, smiling; a rainbow seemed to glimmer off his ultrawhite teeth, in a dazzling smile. Her eyes widened a bit, but her previously agressive stance relaxed to a less in-your-face, I'll-eat-you stance than before.
"I'm sorry, I'm being terribly rude here. My name is Carlisle Cullen. And you are?" Zara nodded, recording the name. She thought for a minute, ears flickering back and forth indesicively as she pondered, weighing the pros and cons of shifting into human form; if, as this Carlisle said, he was more civilized, and immune to human blood, then it might be safe to morph. But, if, as he'd also said, there were more vampires around here, then she could possibly be in danger from them. What if they didn't approve of her, unlike Carlisle? What if they were all for breaking the treaty in exchange for some werewolf hunting action. She shuddered a bit at the thought, but half of her trusted Carlisle already. But the other half of her was still busy imagining every possible worst case scenario. What if all this was just a ploy? But she shook the thought off, and raised her paw off the ground a bit, bobbing her head in acknowledgement. She waved her head in the direction of the woods quickly, and whirled in a blur of white and sprinted a little ways into the forest. She shifted quickly back into her human form, untieing her clothes from her leg and yanking them on hastily.
Returning to the clearing in human form as quickly as her remarkabley quick legs could take her, Zara eyed the vampire warily from the fringe of trees. She took a deep breath to steady herself, and, even in human form, her nose could detect the faint icy sweet smell of vampire, though not as accurately as in wolf form. It still stung her nose and lungs as she inhaled the wet forest air. She walked forward, graceful as ever, though now, the vampire seemed more dangerous than before, when she'd towered over him. "I'm Zara Kester," She said quietly, folding her arms across her chest protectively; she was tense, and ready to run at a nano-second's notice. [/blockquote]

Carlisle sat back down on the rock , still watching the wolf intently."You seem concerned . I might as well make it clear that My Family respect the treaty as much as I do.There are several of Us . My wife , children and Myself.."He explained , the dazzling smile reappearing on His face as He talked about the other Cullens.
Carlisle waited patiently for the wolf to return , enjoying the peace and sereness of the dark cloudy forest.According to Alice , a storm was coming over the town today.Perfect weather for baseball... A clap of Thunder and rain started to pour down onto the area.Finding it' way through the leafy green canopy and soaking The vampire's golden blonde hair.
The rustling of the leaves signalled that the wold was returning , now in the form of the Young girl. "I'm Zara Kester," She said quietly, folding her arms across her chest protectively. Zara Kester? He had certainly not heard of that werewolf before."Nice to meet You."replied Carlisle ,noticing how Zara looked like She was about to run away at any second."I take it that You don't trust Me?I understand why easily.I wouldn't expect a werewolf to be able to trust a vampire. However , I have no qualms in trusting You."

Xx------------------------------- The rain started to fall, first slowly, then picking up speed and tempo, beating the leaves of the canopy with a steadily increasing tattoo, one that Zara found extremely comforting; thunderstorms were her favorite type of weather. A crack of thunder rumbled directly overhead, the sound almost deafening. Often, during thunderstorms, she would lay outside in the grass, in wolf form mostly, watching the lightning snake across the sky in jagged blue-white ropes, listening to the thunder roll and watching shapes form in the storm-darkened, watching mustangs gallop across the turbulent skies, tracing the shape of a bear in a mass of violently purple clouds. Everything about thunderstorms appealed to her; the cool rain splashing against her face and on the ground, the way thunder shook the air with its explosive bursts of sound, the raw power and beauty with which the blue lightning split the skies, everything. And she herself was perfectly content with the atmosphere of a storm.
."You seem concerned. I might as well make it clear that my Family respect the treaty as much as I do. There are several of us. My wife, children and myself...," Carlisle said, perfectly at ease with talking to a werewolf. Of course, Zara did trust him, more than her probably thought. It was just the other vampires she couldn't see that she was worried about. The whole thing could be a ploy. But why would they want to start a war with werewolves just for the fun of killing one measley wolf? Everything pointed towards the fact that these vampires were trustworthy. Odd as it was, despite all her preconcieved notions of vampires, she found it easy to accept that theses vamps were not like others; their strange diet must have made them able to be more civilized. Her eyes narrowed for a moment, mulling over everything, before her stance relaxed a bit further, shifting her weight back onto one leg, surveying the forest shadows for a moment, before shifting her gaze back to the vampire in front of her. She smiled weakly for a moment.
"Nice to meet you.... I take it that you don't trust me? I understand why easily. I wouldn't expect a werewolf to be able to trust a vampire. However, I have no qualms in trusting you," Carlisle said, flashing another momentarily stunning smile. The rain fell more lightly now, but the frequency of the thunder claps increased. Zara snorted derisively. "An adult trusting a teenager? Must be a world first," She said, a wry edge to her voice, a mildy sarcastic smile twitching on her lips, before the thunder shattered the air again. She sighed, enjoying the storm, the heavily charged atmosphere, the wet, rain soaked air pressing down on her. "You said you had a... a wife? And children?" She began uncertainly, fidgeting with the edge of her light sweater, "How many are in your family, all together?" She glanced up at him again, looking truly curious. She was intrigued by the fact that these vampires seemed to live together in harmony, so close to humans, and manage to blend in with their society.

"An adult trusting a teenager? Must be a world first," Carlisle laughed softly ; it sounded musical and enchanting ."After 360 years , You'll trust just about anyone."He replied simply , rain water dripping off His hair and running down His pale cheeks.A bolt of white-blue lightening lit up the area overhead for a moment before restoring the blanket of darkness that covered the area .
"Yes , I have a Wife , Esme.My five children - Emmett , Alice , Jasper , Rosalie and Edward. They aren't Our real children however. They're adopted and yet I love Them as if They were My own."Carlisle grinned as He told Zara about the other Cullens - His precious family. Xx------------------------------- "After 360 years, you'll trust just about anyone," Carlisle said matter-of-factly, another smile exposing perfect ultrawhite and even teeth. Dude, 360 years old?! Zara managed a weak smile at Carlisle's laughter; she'd never imagined that a vampire would be so... so, easy to like. It was difficult to grasp the concept of a vampire being likeable, even though Carlisle was proving it. It was hard not to laugh right along with his musical laughter, and smile. But, as was her nature, she was still wary of everything, but much less vigilant than before. Slowly, she was beginning to trust the vampire, despite every paranoid, cynical thought that passed through her head. Those thoughts, however were slowly beginning to lose their former acidic tone, decreasing in frequency and losing potency until she ignored them all together, like a mindless buzz of quiet music in a store. It was easily shoved into the recessed of her mind, while she listened to Carlisle talk about his family, the loving tone in his voice making it all the more musical, and beautiful.
"Yes, I have a wife Esme. My five children - Emmett, Alice, Jasper, Rosalie and Edward. They aren't our real children however. They're adopted and yet I love them as if they were my own." He grinned as he explained his family, looking proud, and happy. She smiled with him, wishing that her mom would look that proud describing her family. And she probably would, until Zara's name was mentioned. Then, Nancy would probably look regretful, angry and/or ashamed of the resulting child, born of a crazy, drunken one night stand. Forever an accident, deserving nothing more than the minimun attention and affection somone who wasn't supposed to exist was allotted. She sighed for a moment, wishing more than ever to have been the daughter her mother always longed for, not the accident nobody wanted, the nobody she was in her family's eyes. All except Alex. She dragging in a breath through clenched teeth, trying hard not to let the loneliness show on her face. Her expression didn't betray the emotions roiling under the surface.
"Do you have any brothers or sisters, Zara?" As if her knew exactly what she was thinking, Carlisle had asked the question that she'd be hardpressed to answer without looking sad. Perfect timing... She took a deep breath, and forced the thought of her step-brother out of her mind. Remarkably, she found it very easy to answer his query, now that she wasn't dwelling on home. Not that home with Nancy was the greatest place on earth, but that home held the only source of friendship and love that she'd had: her stepbrother, Alex. "Yeah, sort of. I have a stepbrother, Alex. But no biological siblings," She said in a steady voice, smiling at the thought of her stepbrother. He was probably more worried about her than her mother was. At least her real father loved her, if only for the 2 years he'd known her. "So, you're 360 years old, eh? What was it like, living back in the Stone Age?"

Carlisle listened closely to what Zara was saying , a curious look upon His face.Zara did not seem particularly happy when asked about Her family , yet cheered up when talking about Her step brother. "I see.Do You get on well with Your step brother , Zara? What is He like?"He asked , pausing a moment before speaking again."I had no siblings either.I was raised by My Father , a strict Anglican priest. Xx------------------------------- "I see. Do you get on well with your step brother, Zara? What is he like?"Zara smiled wanly when Carlisle asked her about Alex. Truthfully, Alex was the reason why her werewolf tranformation had come so late in her life. His friendship kept her human as long as possible... Not that she missed being human; being a werewolf was way better that she'd imagined. The speed, the freedom, turning into a giant dog, not aging... Everything was way better than being a plain ol' human. And besides, the fact that she was a werewolf was a good excuse to go on week-long camping trips, alone. An excuse to go on dangerous adventures. An excuse to do crazy stunts (since she would heal much faster than normal humans)... Being a werewolf, was, all in all, freaking awesome. But sometimes, she wondered what it would be like to be a vampire....
"Yeah, he's basically the only friend I've ever had," She said, shrugging casually. It was quite true, though, everything she'd said. "He's really funny, and sweet. I'm personally amazed he's never had a girlfriend." She shook her head quickly, smiling a little at the thought of her brother. Now that she wasn't around anymore to monopolize his time, he'd probably get one anyways. She grinned wrly at the thought of her brother having a girlfriend. He probably wouldn't be able to punch his girlfriend in the arm, or fix cars with her, or play football like he'd done with Zara. ."I had no siblings either. I was raised by my father, a strict Anglican priest. I have no recollection of my mother. Stone age. I haven't heard that one before. I had a... different life to others of that time, you could say. Even if I only lived to be twenty three years old. Because of my father, I had no friends. He never believed in that sort of thing. When I was out of school, I was expected to take over the church and lead 'witch hunts ' allthough I wasn't interested in doing either. The only thing I really lived for was to live up to my father's expectations. Luckily, life isn't like that for anyone nowadays.." Carlisle trailed off, gazing off into the trees, his eyes unfocused, probably remembering those days. Zara smile a little bit at his story. Apparently, they had more in common than she'd ever thought possible. She too, had had no friends. She also lived every day trying to live up to her mothers unrealistic expecations. She had also been expected to become what her mother had been as a girl: the perfect little lady, immpeccable manners, expensive tastes in clothing, basically a girly-girl. But Zara had turned out almost completely opposite, learning from her step-brother to swear like a trucker, having burping contests with him, playing football, learning mechanics. Not so lady like.
"I guess we have more in common than I'd thought. I, too, didn't, well don't, have any friends, and my mother, like your father, had unreasonable expectations of what I should be like. Obviously, I turned out completely opposite than what she'd wanted from her only daughter..."

Carlisle was not paying attention to what Zara was saying about Her brother. He was too busy staring off into the near distance ,His eyes unfocused as Carlisle saw Himself in the London of His childhood. The memories of His human life were faded in parts , small details easily forgotten along the way.Yet other parts were as clear as glass in Carlisle's mind...
His mind drifted from the people Who He knew , to the church , to His Parents.Memories of His parents were the most faded. If He recalled correctly , His mother died giving birth to Him.His Father..Carlisle couldn't remember what He looked like . All He knew was that He resembled almost nothing of His Father.
As to actual memories , Carlisle only remembered a small amount of times that His Father would hit Him.Always with the back of His hand , clear across Carlisle's face.If He asked too many questions , take too long to accuse someone of being a Monster .Things like that.
"I guess we have more in common than I'd thought. I, too, didn't, well don't, have any friends, and my mother, like your father, had unreasonable expectations of what I should be like. Obviously, I turned out completely opposite than what she'd wanted from her only daughter..."
Carlisle snapped back into the real world again as Zara spoke. His brilliant smile shone again as He replied."How strange , a Vampire and Werewolf having things in Common.I turned out the same way as You did , Completely different than How I was meant to be.I can't recall the exact number of times I was called a 'dissapointment ' and told ' You have brought shame upon Me.' yet it certainly was a lot.
The only difference between You and I was that I was exceptionally obedient. My Father told Me to do something , and I did it , no matter how absurd it was. Then again , I complained an awful lot later."

* `vampires will never hurt you
Xx------------------------------- Zara listened intently to Carlisle’s story, mentally comparing it to hers; they had lots in common, as much as sanely possible, considering each other’s species was the polar opposite of their own. Half of her mind was completely absorbed in Carlisle himself, with nothing more than intense curiosity raging in her mind. She had never known that all vampires were so perfect. Not one scar to mar their perfect, pale complexions; not one grey hair in their perfectly styled hair. Right down to their voices, vampires were utter perfection, incomparably beautiful. Even the relatively plain vampire that had been hunting in her town was beautiful in his own way, or, at the very least, unblemished, impeccably flawless. Maybe not everyone’s definition of beautiful, or pretty, but unadulterated and absolutely picture perfect. She hadn’t seen one vampire that was fat, either -not that she’d met a lot of them. It was probably just another thing to attract their prey, another marker of how different they were: inhuman beauty, superhuman strenght and speed, highly sensitive senses, smart, not to mention the special traits some vamps had… Vampires had everything going for them. It made her feel obsolete, being a mere, flawed werewolf next to the perfect, beautiful vampire. She did have acute senses, superhuman strenght and speed, but was she beautiful? In her opinion, no, she was nothing compared even to the plainest of vampires. Then again, is one’s perception of themselves the concrete truth? Did anyone see themselves as they really were? Rarely. It was not the first time she’d felt shamefully shabby in someone else presence, but not so deeply, so distinctly, absolutely and downright ugly as she felt now, near Carlisle’s vampiric flawlessness.
"How strange, a vampire and werewolf having things in common. I turned out the same way as you did, completely different than how I was meant to be. I can't recall the exact number of times I was called a 'disappointment ' and told 'you have brought shame upon me,' yet it certainly was a lot. The only difference between you and I was that I was exceptionally obedient. My father told me to do something, and I did it, no matter how absurd it was. Then again, I complained an awful lot later,” Zara smiled ruefully at his account of his life, as his eyes unfocused, and refocused, as he drifted from the present back to his memories, and back to reality. She imagined what it must’ve been like living back then, and what it would be like to witness such dramatic changes in the world and society over time. Awkward, curious… What would it have been like to watch history in the making, to watch uncountable wars, witness advances in science, and knowledge of the world, to see how the world changed, almost in fast-forward, through ageless eyes? To question what you knew every day? To change your views about the world around you with every advance, with every day that passes? To be able to well and truly see how the stories that she had only ever read about unfolded, first hand? She sighed wistfully, wishing that, like Carlisle, she could go back in time, through crystal clear memories and watch history and the world advance. Things that she had never seen first hand, like World War II, Carlisle could probably remember as if it was yesterday that Nazis and Allies were locked in a worldwide bloodbath. Zara smiled, returning to earth from her fantasy.
“Yeah, I don’t think I ever did anything right for my mom. Always forcing perfection upon her kids, and never once looking in the mirror to see the most flawed of all her family. But you are right about the obedience part; I never did what my mother told me to without making a sarcastic comment or a long-winded complaint. With anyone else, I would’ve done whatever they told me to do as long as it was reasonable, but with my mother, I figured that blindly stubborn mule deserved a taste of her own medicine,” She said, shrugging casually. “Speaking of personality traits, why do some vampires have special abilities? Does anyone in your… your coven have a special power?” Truthfully, Zara had been insanely curious about vampires, and their distinguishing features. The fact that some of them had amazing superpowers was even more compelling. It was like her favorite comic books come to life. Those authors had no idea how true some of their creations were.

Carlisle listened closely to what Zara was saying. It seemed that this Young girl had , in a way , almost the same upbringing as Carlisle. How strange it felt that two people meeting at random , one werwolf , one vampire , had so much in common.
“Speaking of personality traits, why do some vampires have special abilities? Does anyone in your… your coven have a special power?” "Yes.I believe that each vampire brings a trait from Their Human life with Them.I brought My Compassion.Yet sometimes , these traits do result in special abilities. It has happened to three of My 'children'.My son Edward can read People's thoughts , My Daughter Alice can predict the future , and Another Son Jasper can manipulate the emotions of people around Him."
