* `vampires will never hurt you
Xx------------------------------- "Yes. I believe that each vampire brings a trait from their human life with them. I brought my compassion. Yet sometimes, these traits do result in special abilities. It has happened to three of my 'children'. my son Edward can read people's thoughts, my daughter Alice can predict the future, and another son Jasper can manipulate the emotions of people around him," Carlisle said, a strange emotion creeping into his cadenced voice as he spoke of his family, combining with the musical intonation of his flawless voice to color the words he spoke with such gravity and tenderness that it made even the most romantic or heartfelt words ever spoken by anyone pale in comparison. With a jolt, Zara realized that the unrecognizable emotion in his tone was love. She’d never thought that words that fell from a vampire’s lips could ever sound so. . .full of passion, and fondness. Even the plays written by countless playwrights had nothing on the affection so obvious in Carlisle’s tone. Maybe even Romeo and Juliet weren’t comparable.
Zara was momentarily stunned into silence, as she replayed the words over in her head-she hadn’t fully grasped their meaning, as she was too startled by Carlisle’s tone to even notice the words it colored. She sighed, suddenly, a barely audible whisper in the comparably loud forest. Nobody sounded like that when they spoke of her. She would never fit in, no matter how hard she tried. She was almost angry that fate hadn’t given her any small hope of love. Maybe, cruel as it sounded, maybe she’d been destined to be alone in her immortal world. Maybe, from the moment she’d been born, her lonely destiny had been decided by some vagabond god. It seemed fitting, then, that she would be a lonely werewolf, a freak of nature. A very alone freak. It was also fitting, then, that she preferred to be alone most of the time, and that she was so independant. Maybe, then, it was suitable that she was chosen for such a hopeless, solitary life -for no one else Zara knew could handle the isolation of the outcast as she could. Then this fate, the knowledge that she would always be solo, wasn't so suprising; she should have seen it coming. Rigth from the outset, she was independant, an outcast from society. It was ironic, now, that she was a lone werewolf-an outcast already, now made even more wayward by the fact that she was a lone soul in a world that usually stuck together. The outcast of the outcasts.
And, pushing the wayward, random thought out of her head, she answered Carlisle. “Wow. Sounds cool. . . Too bad werewolves don’t have any superpowers,” Zara said, grinning, “But either way, it’d still be pretty cool. . .” She fell silent, thinking. She wondered how many werewolves were in the La Push pack, and if Carlisle knew her father. Probably not, she decided. “How many werewolves are in the La Push pack?” Eyes widening, Zara realized that she’d actually said that out loud. It was supposed to be a silent thought! Quickly, before she was aware of it, she composed her face into a serene mask, careful to school her thoughts now. She’d had such outbursts before, and they were often quite embarrassing. And she wished not for her image to be even more tarnished in the vampire's view than it already was. She sighed quietly, resigned to the fact that she rarely made a good first impression, especially on what were supposed to be her mortal enemies. But, then again, she did not think of them that way. She was actually interested in the Cullens, and their strange way of life. Especially interested to meet the talented members of Carlisle's coven. . .
ooc;; Aha, 's all good. =] -hands over brain cells- it's my fault, too; my posts don‘t give you much to work with. i‘m sorry. . . =[

Carlisle became mildly uncomfortable in the silence and at Zara’s stunned expression.Although She could easily be stunned at His explanation of the powers of His family , yet there was a sense that it was about something completely different.”Are You alright , Zara?”He asked , concerned about the young girl.
“Wow. Sounds cool. . . Too bad werewolves don’t have any superpowers,”
Carlisle smiled as Zara relaxed again.”Yes , I guess it is.Yet these gifts can double as burdens. Jasper feels everyone else’s emotions around Him , whether He wants to or not.Alice cannot see Werewolves . Anyone Who is with Them , Their future disappears for a while .I’m probably like that to Alice currently. And Edward..would You want to hear everyone’s private thoughts all the time?I certainly would not.”
“How many werewolves are in the La Push pack?”
”How many? I think Their numbers currently stand at Ten.Nine Males and One Female. Why?Is something the matter?”Carlisle asked, the concern quickly returning to His voice as Zara sighed.
Ooc//Your posts are fine. You’re a brilliant rper and My posts are always just..Meh.There isn’t a better word to describe it.^^

Xx------------------------------- "Are you alright, Zara?” Zara was caught off guard by Carlisle's question, and managed to compose her expression before answering. Of course she wasn't okay. How could somone be okay with the idea that some cruel, sadistic guardian angel had destined you to be alone for the rest of your life? Unless you are a hermit and enjoy, for some strange, perverse reason, a future with no hope of companionship, then undoubtedly, anyone would be stunned into silence with a realization of that magnitude. It altered her outlook on life completely, now. Of course this trip had been stupid. She realized that now. It was just a waste of time, searching for acceptance when you know it's just wishful thinking that someone like Zara, someone so completely different, someone who was candidly too alien to society, could ever find a place where they were wanted. Such a place does not exist. Now she knew why her mother and father, and her step-siblings for that matter, were so cruel and oblivious to her. Because they had been moulded by unseen, unknown factors, to react in such a way to the unwanted, the outcasts. Of course, they may not have known it, but their reactions to Zara were probably nothing more than an instinctual reflex, a mechanical response governed with age-old impulses, to those of us who are sentenced to walking a long, lonely road of life. People such as Zara. She saw now that some all-powerful force had singled her out for being a werewolf, since this would do nothing but distance her from any possibility of friends. Zara no longer viewed people she liked well as 'friends'. Not now. Now, they were nothing more than nuisances, hostages to the human mind, to sincerity, specifically designed as tools of the fates to show some scrap of kindness to people used to desolation and loneliness. Their brains, wired to show sympathy to the outcasts of society, only proved that their friendliness had been nothing more than pity. It seemed blindingly obvious to Zara now.
And she realized all that in less than a second. It hit her like a tsunami. But nothing about her body showed this monumental moment in her life, a turning point after which every decision she was confronted with was affected by the realization that her life would forever be desolate of friends, of companions. She cracked a smile, and spoke. “Oh, yeah. I’m fine.” Her smile was -if a bit to forced- perfectly natural, relaxed. Nobody knew her well enough to notice the tiny edge of strain under her casual tone. Nobody knew her enough to see that her smile was a tad -barely even discernibly so- too wide. Of course, nobody would ever know Zara that well. Nope, not even her parents. They didn’t pay nearly enough attention to their only daughter to see how changed she was, much less attribute those infinitesimal differences to becoming a werewolf. Of course not. She managed to force her lips into a neutral position as Carlisle spoke again. “Yes, I guess it is. Yet these gifts can double as burdens. Jasper feels everyone else’s emotions around him, whether he wants to or not. Alice cannot see werewolves . Anyone who is with them, their future disappears for a while. I’m probably like that to Alice currently. And Edward.. would you want to hear everyone’s private thoughts all the time? I certainly would not.”
She nodded absently in agreement. No, hearing peoples’ thoughts every day wouldn’t be so cool. Yes, feeling everyone’s emotion would eventually become tedious. Reactions like this would eventually become mechanical. She could live with that. Because her future -once a bright canvas, so full of hope and opportunity that it seemed absurd to her now- was suddenly gone. It seemed the brilliant mastermind behind everyone else’s future had suddenly run out of muse for Zara, and handed her a bleak, grey canvas-a fresh slap in the face. A giant neon sign that flashed: “The road of life ends here! Take detour,” when obviously no such relief existed. It was like dying, then realizing that you weren’t fully dead, stuck in some hideous limbo between life and death. The numbness of death, the tedium of life, without the benefits of either state.
“How many? I think their numbers currently stand at Ten. Nine males and one female. Why? Is something the matter?” Zara would have to remember to practice her poker face. Obviously, her expression had told Carlisle something was wrong. She quickly arranged her features into a wan smile “Um,-” No, everything’s the matter! My life is crumbling away from me as we speak! “-I’m fine. That was actually the reason I came down here. . . To see if maybe I could join the pack. . . I’ve been a lone werewolf for 2 years now. . .” She said, her voice fading toward the end to a flat, dull tone. Oddly enough, though her voice lacked expression, it just screamed depression. It was dripping with the unseen agony her expression refused to betray, the pain she refused to acknowledge. She'd get through this. Somehow. . .
ooc;; wow, longest post ever. 861 words. O.o and now, for some reason, i feel depressed every time i read it. . .

“Um,-I’m fine. That was actually the reason I came down here. . . To see if maybe I could join the pack. . . I’ve been a lone werewolf for 2 years now. . .” She said, her voice fading toward the end to a flat, dull tone.
Carlisle nodded quietly."It must have been hard on You , being a lone wolf , and for that long as well!Have You talked to Jacob Black? If I recall correctly , He is the pack leader.I'm sure that He would be willing to let You join Their pack."Carlisle paused , the only sound coming from the birds flying noisily over head."Just be warned.Things do get exceptionally dangerous around here at times. The humans aren't affected though , while werwolves and Vampires are.I'll try and explain as best as I can.."Carlisle stopped to clear His throat before starting His story.
"My family are very unusual vampires for three particular reasons. One , We are quite a large coven. Most vampires stay in twos or threes. Two ,We are vegetarian , as You know. And Three , We have a place that We call home. "Many Vampires stick to human blood and travel around. They have no home. There has been trouble before when three vampires travelled through here a few years ago.Laurent ,James and Victoria. All three are now deceased.James tried to kill Bella Swan , the police cheif's daughter, by whatever means necessary ; He saw it all as a game. His Mate Victoria tried to kill My son because He killed James.Laurent tried to kill Bella also. Now that I think about it , most of the trouble seems to be attracted to Bella , which causes trouble for everyone else.." Carlisle concluded with a chuckle.
ooc//Carlisle and Jasper both have secret powers....THEY CAN TURN INTO EACH OTHER.You're the first person to see it happen (As I am on the wrong account and too lazy to change)

Xx------------------------------- "It must have been hard on you, being a lone wolf, and for that long as well! Have you talked to Jacob Black? If I recall correctly, he is the pack leader. I'm sure that he would be willing to let you join their pack," Carlisle explained, a gentle smile on his lips. Zara raised her brow, and sighed, in a 'You-have-no-idea' sort of way. It had been horrible, her first transformation. Absolutely terrifying. Exploding into a huge wolf was unnerving, to say the least. Nobody could told her why, and she could hardly ask strangers on the street why she was transforming into a wolf; she thought she was going insane. Everything was so differnet: her senses were heightened, and everything because crystal clear. She could run, oh, the speed! And the strange things that happened. . . She shuddered at the memory of those first few hellish months.
"Just be warned. Things do get exceptionally dangerous around here at times. The humans are not affected though, while werewolves and vampires are. I’ll try and explain as best as I can…” Carlisle stopped to clear his throat before continuing his story.
"My family are very unusual vampires for three particular reasons. One, we are quite a large coven. Most vampires stay in twos or threes. Two, we are vegetarian, as you know. And three, we have a place that we call home. Many vampires stick to human blood and travel around. They have no home. There has been trouble before when three vampires travelled through here a few years ago. Laurent, James and Victoria. All three are now deceased. James tried to kill Bella Swan, the police chief’s daughter, by whatever means necessary; He saw it all as a game. His mate Victoria tried to kill my son because he killed James. Laurent tried to kill Bella also. Now that I think about it, most of the trouble seems to be attracted to Bella, which causes trouble for everyone else…” Carlisle concluded with a chuckle. Zara smiled knowingly; danger was nothing new to her. She had coped with it as best as she could, and now, in lieu of the knowledge that she would walk her eternal road of life alone, she hungered for danger. Anything that would make her desolate existence more exciting. When you have no one to dance with, why not flirt with danger? She snorted at this thought. She found it fitting. Maybe it’d become her new motto. . . It certainly was appropriate, considering her situation.
"I live for danger. It’s the only thing I have left," She explained, a cynical smile on her lips. She felt kind of lighter now, more at ease. Her epiphany had lightened her load. Now that the whole question of her future was resolved, she could pretty much spend the rest of her life in danger. It certainly would spice up a life free of companionship. But then again, being alone wasn’t such a bad thing. No annoying friends for one thing, no back-stabbing ones for another. Endless time to think, never being interrupted. . . So maybe being alone wasn’t so bad. . .
She smiled, and shook her head again, looking up at Carlisle. "I’m sure, though, I won’t be hanging around much longer. Does the rest of your family know I’m here? From what I’ve heard, it seems you are more than family. . . But will they agree with you? I’m not so sure about that. . ." She trailed off, looking uncertainly at Carlisle, then glancing away into the trees suspiciously. She tensed, waiting for something. The vampires had to have smelled her by now-she could easily smell them.
ooc;; I think we should get Steph in here. . . What do you think? I’m running out of ideas. . . O.o Edward could bring some action to this thread. XD

EDWARD CULLEN ! stop now, there's no point in breathing - it's not allowed.

The clouds sailed across the sky as sailships upon a calm sea. Not a single sunray reached out from behind the clouds, fortunately, it had stayed hidden away from his family. Edward mashed his lips together, tossing a quick glance around before flitting out the door within a heartbeat. Running or swiftness was something he really had to think about; it just happened, you know? Effortless. It could be easily compared to how an adult walks, a bird flies, a professional conductor composing a musical; it was absolutely effortless and essential to his wellbeing. His thoughts were perfectly content as he was sprawled across the ground, the thin strands of grass swaying in the light breeze that surrounded the hollow beside him. In fact, this was the first place he had taken Bella to. The infamous meadow. It held sentimental value to both he and Bella, and it would not be destroyed under any circumstances. A sigh slithered from his wintry lips, topaz eyes closing, concealing them from the blinding sunlight. Shards of diamond shattered off his marble body, like diamonds were somehow embedded into his chilly skin. His chest slowly moved up and down as each breath entered and exited his parted lips, a smile playing at the corner of his lips. It was only expected of him to be thinking of Bella; the human he had hopelessly fell for. His thoughts were surfing, trying to reach her mentally.
His eyes flashed open, gazing at the sun for a brief moment before flitting in the direction where he had heard a voice. It was unfamiliar to him. A stranger. In that instant, he was on his feet and darting towards the voice, breezing through the forest as if he were the wind, his feet carrying himself methodically, fluently. Bella, Bella, Bella. His mind reeled, breath slipping from between his teeth. Though, he did recognize one lingering voice in his head. Carlisle. The trees frowned on either side of him, his feet gradually ceasing to a stop, as the breath swirled around him, signaling that he was near. His feet stopped. Golden orbs locked on..on her, a brutal growl ripping out of his mouth, automatically going to stand in front of Carlisle, coiling into a defensive posture. Werewolf. Edward locked his muscles, jaw clenching. "What are you doing here?" He hissed.

Carlisle gave a small sigh before speaking again.” I am most likely the only one that knows about you being here. We are very close yet we all have our disagreements. I recently let another vampire into our coven, Jane, and Edward did not agree that I made the right choice. However, everything is alright now .One mome-"Carlisle stopped as He caught Edward’s scent mingled with the smell of the wet earth that surrounded Them. Sure enough , He appeared a moment later , in front of Carlisle in a protective stance.
“Good day , Edward. How nice of You to join Us.” Carlisle spoke softly , moving to stand next to His son.He placed a cold hand on Edward's shoulder before speaking again. "Edward , this is Zara.Zara has come to Forks in the hope of being able to join the La Push pack. She has been a lone wolf for around two years now."Carlisle explained , before introducing the other vampire to Zara. "Zara , this is Edward , My son."

Xx------------------------------- "I am most likely the only one that knows about you being here. We are very close yet we all have our disagreements. I recently let another vampire into our coven, Jane, and Edward did not agree that I made the right choice. However, everything is alright now. One mome-" Carlise's sentence was cut off by the appearence of a new vampire. Zara was startled slightly by the appearence of another vampire, though not afraid; she had heard him coming, but the new vampire was much different from Carlisle. They were both inhumanly beautiful and perfect, but she wasn't shocked by that anymore, and their voices were musical. But the difference was also in his expression and stature. Whereas Carlisle stood completely relaxed and at ease, this new vamp was tensely coiled in a defensive stance in front of Carlisle. She flinched slightly as the vampire snarled, a vicious snarl that normally would have scared anyone else half to death. She internally rejoiced that finally some facet of vampire mannerisms fit her preconcived notions. This vampire did obviously not like the fact that a werewolf was standing so close to Carlisle, let alone that they both seemed very contented and relaxed.
"What are you doing here?" Neither his tone, nor the words they colored, bothered Zara. She was very much used to being treated like dirt, and this was no different, albeit more deadly than being yelled at by an irate human. She shifted her weight onto her right leg and assumed an even more nonchalant posture. "To visit the magical forest of fluffy bunnies and unicorns, of course," She said dryly, crossing her arms over her chest, waiting to see if her sarcasm would annoy this newest addition to their little conversation. Certainly, sarcasm wasn't the best way to answer such a question, but it was just too much to resist. If one must as a stupid question, then one should recieve a stupid answer.
"Good day, Edward. How nice of you to join us. Edward, this is Zara. Zara has come to Forks in the hope of being able to join the La Push pack. She has been a lone wolf for around two years now. Zara, this is Edward, my son." Carlisle, however, offered up the more plausible explanation for Zara's appearance. Frowning slightly as Carlisle introduced the new vamp as Edward, she realized this was the mind-reader he'd been talking about. Yay.
"Nice to meet you too, Edward," She said in a mildly monotone voice, though no one could doubt there was a touch of unspoken candour to the words. She wondered idly why Edward was so worked up. Obviously, if he could hear her thoughts, he'd know that Zara wasn't planning to massacre the entire population of Forks, or do something similarily terrible. So what was so threatening about her? a) She had to be the smallest werewolf ever, b) she was one lone werewolf against 2 vampires; they could easily dispatch her if they wanted to and c) she had absolutely no back up, if Edward decided to kill her. She bit her lip, her green eyes flashing between Edward, Carlisle, and the surrounding woods warily as she tried to figure out a logical reason for Edward's agitation.

EDWARD CULLEN ! and i'll be right here waiting for you ,

Edward did not loosen his threatening posture, his fist clenching. Ocher eyes were fixated on the werewolf before him, he was so close that he could feel her breath twirling around his face. There definitely wasn't an excuse for his rude behavior, especially to a newcomer in town. Though, not much cared to him besides Bella's safety. Bella came first, everybody in his family knew that. If Bella was exterminated out of his life, Edward would perish with her in the ancient temples of rue. He wouldn't allow anything to endanger Bella, not even this harmless werewolf. Evidently, the werewolf had no intentions to slaughter unsuspecting townspeople, though she could still easily lose control. And, that, Edward would not let her do. He would kill her, if that's what it took to protect Bella. She was his life. The only girl who has ever touched his heart, besides Esme and possibly, Rosalie.
Carlisle's words drifted around him, his musical voice containing an emotion of tranquility. Edward shifted in his position, muscles slackening by an ounce. "I already know, Carlisle." He breathed, standing slowly, eyes locked on Zara. Surely the werewolf would have enough self-control by now. Edward wouldn't take any chances. After all, he would do anything for his dearest Isabella. They were so close to their marriage by now, and losing his fiance at this point in time didn't appeal to him. "To visit the magical forest of fluffy bunnies and unicorns, of course," Her words were nonchalant, reckless. Edward bit back a sharp growl at her heavy sarcasm. Who did she think he was? His lips pulled over his teeth slightly, eyes flashing with anger. Yeah, Esme told him a hundred times. Anger management. He already knew about his issue. "It's nice to meet you, Zara. You should be at La Push by now, where you belong. Not here." Edward said slowly in his familiar velvet voice. Surprisingly, he wasn't shrieking the words at her. Instead, he was calm; serene. Calculating. His words sunk into him a fraction of a second later. No, she didn't belong here at all! So, why was she here? Plotting, perhaps? Edward mashed his lips into a firm line, searching into her mind. Luckily she hadn't picked up the nearly irresisitble scent of Bella yet. That was always a good thing. Bella was smelled too delicious for her own good, even she knew that by experience from another vampire long ago named James. He had hunted her down, fooling all of them at the same time with his puzzling game, and nearly ended up killing her. Thankfully, Alice had dismembered him.
