Jacob had been patrolling the line when someone had crossed it. It wasn't a Cullen - no. He had memorized their scents from that time they fought together in the meadow. It was someone different. Someone Jacob doubted that he could trust. It made him uneasy; he didn't want a vampire to cross the line. While it was totally possible that they didn't know about the treaty, Jacob didn't care. They crossed the boundary line and now they would have to deal with him.
He was the only one patrolling at that particular time. Ever since Jacob had become the pack leader, he had started to take shifts alone. He didn't want to have to deal with anyone - not even his friends. Especially not Leah. He didn't want to have to share his thoughts or his feelings of heartbreak with anyone.
Jacob took off in a dead run towards the scent. In wolf form, Jacob could move quickly. He let off one long howl to put his brothers (and sister) on alert. They would shift if he gave another call, but he didn't think that would be necessary. It was just one vampire - that was no challenge at all.

Jane wrinkled her nose, what was that smell. She knew she had to find Bella, and this is just where the scent lead her, but dogs? Bella didn't look like a dog person but the smell stared to get off. Jane crossed her arms, her brown hair billowed in the wind as a sharp howl came from the distance.
Jane shook her head as she remembered the scent. She had only smelled it once before. It was werewolf, and if was horrid. Did they ever take showers? Jane stood still letting her eyes gaze into the trees. She could feel the breathing of the huge paws as a gust of wind made the scent stronger. Jane gagged as she realized bella must be with them. Jane laughed, one her prey was coming to her, and she realized how dangerous Bella really was..

Jacob made it to where Jane stood. His muzzle wrinkled in disgust at the smell; how could such a putrid stench be coming from such a little body? He growled, tensing his body as he stood there. His eyes conveyed his human words, but perhaps Jane was stupid to comprehend. What the hell do you want? Why are you here? Jacob was angry at this witch. He knew what she was looking for. What did any vampire in Forks look for? Oh, that's right: Bella.
Jacob loved Bella far more than anyone would ever understand. When he closed his eyes, it was Bella's face that he saw behind his eyelids. When Jacob needed cheered up, Jacob thought of Bella. When Bella announced her engagement, it killed Jacob so much that he ran away. And, now, he had come home just in time for her wedding. Jacob was, at best, a fool in love. A fool in love with a girl who would never love him as much as he loved her because he was the wrong type of monster. Jacob, in short, was an epic fail.

Jane covered her nose as a giant figure walked up, hovering over her. But who truly was smaller than Jane, and at her age; not a one. The wolf seemed like he wanted to communicate, as Jane laughed slightly. "Are you trying to talk to me dog?" She asked, looking for any body language until she found his eyes, something nobody smart would ever want. Jane kept her powers to herself as she read his eyes, ready to answer she smiled."What the hell do I want?" Jane mocked arching an eyebrow. "That is no way to talk to royalty." Said said shaking her head, "And it seems that you already know what I'm here for, bella." She said letting her eyes drift to the side, "And you will let me go, and I will get her." Jane said, here eyes growing hard, "Or else."

Jacob was not happy. No one - not even stinking royalty spoke to him like that. The fur on his back rose up some, making him appear to be even larger than he already was. A loud growl ripped through him. It was intimidating, scary. His lips pulled back to reveal his razor sharp teeth. Did this stupid girl not know that he helped kill the vampire Army that the Cullen's had said they took down alone? Oh, no, she wouldn't.
Jacob stood his ground. There was no way that this leech was getting through him. He braced his body, ready to pounce - yet ready for impact - at her words. Bella would remain safe on his side of the line, like he had promised all along. His large paws inched closer to Jane as he slid into an defensive pose, the growl still ripping a warning through him.

Jane watched she his pelt rose and her growled. It was low, and bellowing, but it couldn't be anything close to Edward hate filled looks. Jane straitened her back as she watched the dog show her his huge fangs. Jane was scared by very little, and this wasn't one of the times.
As he inched closed Jane looked for any way for contact with his eyes. While she decided to ramble. "So Edward has his power and I have mine." she said his steps closer," Don't piss of the Voulturi dog." Jane growled.

Jacob took a deep breath as she tried to search for eye contact. He wouldn't make it; not with this demon witch. With unthinkable speed and on a spur of spontaneity, Jacob sprung forward. He shoved at her body, pushing her farther from the La Push line. He wasn't going to let her pass. He wasn't going to give up so easily. If she wanted a fight, that's what she'd get. Jacob didn't underestimate her strength; he had seen that small sister of Edward's before and it was quite amazing.

Jane growled as the dog hit her sending her farther from the line. Jane's small body flipped in the air as she landed carefully on the ground spitting. "You stupid mongrel!" Jane said continuing to look for any contact. She needed him in pain, it would be the only way to get around him a the moment. Jane soft hair whipped in the air as the breeze blew through the wood.

Jacob laughed a throaty bark. If he was the stupid mongrel, why was he besting her? He wouldn't look into her eyes; he saw her looking for his eye contact. He wasn't stupid - there was something to making eye contact with this particular leech that he wasn't about to give in and do it. Instead, Jacob launched forward again, biting her arm. He yanked and yanked, trying to pull it off. Sure, sure. Ripping off her arm wouldn't kill her, but it would make her think twice about messing with La Push.

Jane growled as the dog bit her arm, still pushing her away from the scent, the Bella. Jane pulled her arm out as a loud sound like the scratching of metal was heard. Jane growled as she in the same second had her arms wrapped tightly around his neck. She was ready to kill him, he was nothing but a pawn, if that. "Remember what I said dog?" She asked, hissing out the words. "Don't piss me off." Her grip tightened, but not enough to cut anything off, just enough to hurt. Jane wasn't going to let him get away with that- ever.

Jacob was a big wolf - the largest in the La Push pack. He knew how to take care of himself. Still, when Jane wrapped her arms around his neck, he felt a pang of fear shoot through him. He scratched at her with his large paws, trying to free himself. This was not a good predicament to be in. And, he knew that if he phased back, Jane would have the upper hand. Yes, he was super strong as a human... but not like when he shape shifted. He growled a warning at Jane. Then, with uncanny loudness, he howled (although at this point, his head was by her ear. He hoped it hurt). He was alerting his brothers (and sister...).

Jane tried to dodge the as as they came at her , hard and fast. Jane growled as she grabbed his shoulder shattering it instantly. Jane flipped in the air landing in a tree as the wolf call, called for his family. If even a one of those dogs touched her she would have the wrath of the Vulturi on them, Alec, Aro, the wives... Each one of them would be upon the dogs, playing with their lives like they actually mattered. "Call them, dog, but it will make everything worse if They even touch me." Jane hissed, her dark red eyes glaring at Jacob. Her shoulder would be screaming with pain if she was human, but her hard body wouldn't be hurt that easily.
