Angel turned to him, hearing him say something, however she could not quite make out what it was from the distance. Just go over, Angel. It's not like he did anything incredibly awful. You acted a bit out of order, to be honest. Just go over... Angel sighed, standing up and walking back over to him. "I'm sorry. I was out of order and I shouldn't have hugged you. It's just who I am. If you don't like it, I'll stop," she said, lowering her head in shame. She felt bad for overreacting in that way. She did it often enough, but she still felt guilty every time.
She sat next to him, but a little further away. She didn't want to push her like, like she already had too much. "Why are you so hot?" She asked, curious about his temperature. It was unnaturally hot for that of a human body temperature. However, if he didn't want to tell her she was fine with that. "Are you sick? Contagious? Am I going to die from touching you?" She asked, knowing that she wasn't going to die anyway. [/blockquote]

"It's okay. I get that - you're just naturally out going and touchy. I'm just not that way," he apologized slowly. His head hung. he was ashamed of how he had acted, too. hitting Leah away was one thing. Hitting some girl that he barely knew and had only showed him compassion and kindness was not okay. Sam would be so disgusted in Jake right now if he could see him. Ugh, Sam will never let me run the pack; he'll never step down. As Jake thought of that, a growl rolled in his throat. It was low and soft, but Angel might still be able to hear it.
Jake shrugged at her question. "It.... I don't know. I feel normal; I'm not sick," he assured her. "Don't worry." Jake definitely wasn't contagious. Jake was just a werewolf. How did you introduce that in a normal conversation? Oh wait... you didn't.

Angel nodded. "Don't worry about it. I won't do it anymore. I'm sorry if it made you uncomfortable in any way at all. You need to tell me these things though, yeah? I'm not a mind reader. I just am how I am, and if you don't like it then just tell me, yeah?" She asked, smiling warmly at him. Her anger had now disappeared and she couldn't even remember why she was so angry in the first place. She just didn't know why. There was no reason to be. Angel had never met anyone who didn't like being hugged though, so she figured it was because of bad times in the past with it, possibly a girl. She was proud of herself for working it out, so a small smile appeared on her face.
"I apologise for being too... forward, if you will. It's just who I am," she explained, before smiling a little. "As long as you're not sick," she said, dropping the subject. If he'd wanted to tell her more, he would. Since he didn't say anything else, Angel decided to drop it. There was no point in making him try and say something. That would only annoy the both of them, and Angel didn't want her one and only friend to be annoyed at her for simply being nosy. There was no point. If he was ever ready to tell her, he would. Until then, she guessed it was best to stay silent. [/blockquote]

"It's okay, seriously. I know that I shouldn't walk around like I have a stick up my ass," Jake said with a shy grin. He knew better than to be like that. He knew better than to let her think that he was always such a pompous asshole. What did Bella say about him? Oh, that he was acting like Sam's Jacob and not himself. He hated that term. He was himself. He just didn't really know how he fit into his werewolf attitude yet. He still was sour about the whole thing, sadly.
"I promise that I'm not sick. I even let that b-- Doctor check me out," Jake pulled a face. His heart was racing. He almost had called Carlisle a bloodsucker. That was a big no, no. He could get into so much trouble for that. Unfortunately for Jake, bloodsucker and doctor were synonymous in his mind.

Angel nodded, smiling a little at him. She found it odd, though. He made it sound so odd when he said Doctor and his facial expression changed, but she decided to drop it. It was obviously a secret and she thought that he'd tell her when he was ready if he wanted to, and she did hardly know him, after all. However, she'd run out of conversation so she simply stayed silent and watched the water go by. "How old are you, anyway?" She asked, finally coming up with something to say that didn't involve some big old secret that he didn't want to tell her.
Everyone had secrets. Angel knew that if she pried into them, it would only make people mad at her and probably not want to talk to her again, considering her nosy and out to be friendly with everyone. She had her own secrets, and she knew that she wouldn't tell someone she had only just met and didn't know that well her secrets, so why should he tell her his? She had already told him that she was there if she needed him, so there wasn't much else she could do. If he didn't want to tell her, she didn't want to know. Not yet, anyway. As long as he wasn't in danger in any way or sick, she was happy. [/blockquote]

"I'm..." Jacob paused, thinking. "I'm sixteen," he said finally. It wasn't that he didn't know his age. It was just that he felt so much older than sixteen. He looked so much older than sixteen. Jacob couldn't believe that the worst year of his life - the year in which Cullen came back; the year in which he turned into a monster; the year in which he lost Bella, the year in which he was going to hear Bella say 'I do' to the wrong man; the year in which he was going to try and revise a treaty that his tribe had followed for centuries; the year in which he was handing Bella a box with his bow tied up in a pretty little bow in one hand and a knife in the other, asking her to please, please stab it as hard as she could because the damage couldn't be any worse than she had already done. "How old are you?" Jacob was truly interested. Angel seemed so experienced... yet she didn't look that old.
Jake smiled ruefully. "I promise you that I'm not sick. It's a La Push thing, I think. A lot of the boys there feel like they're running fevers, but none of us have dropped dead yet." That was the truth. The whole pack felt too hot for a normal person... but no one had died. There had been a couple of close calls -stupid Leah! - but nothing too, too major.

Angel smiled. "I'm seventeen, but it feels no different than sixteen," she laughed, remembering how her birthday had been the same as any other day. She had had no one to celebrate it with at all. In fact, she had forgotten it was her birthday until the evening, when she had a single card through the door wishing her a happy birthday, however it did not say who the card was from. She found it a little odd, but wasn't going to question the only thing that helped her remember. That day brought back so many memories for Angel, but she found no reason to be sad. Life was too short to be sad.
"Well as long as you're okay, there's no reason to worry," she smiled. "When does the tide come in around here?" She asked, wondering when they'd have to move away from the beach and go somewhere else. Angel really didn't want to, but she would rather move than be swept out to sea. [/blockquote]

Jacob looked at her confused. "But you had a husband? A child?" Seventeen was so young to be making a choice like that. Seventeen wasn't that much older than Jacob. Seventeen wasn't that much younger than Bella. Seventeen was the age where you were barely just a woman, but not a child anymore. It just shocked Jacob that Angel was seventeen, yet she had experienced so much. In a way, Jacob was jealous. Jacob was jealous because if Angel was seventeen and had already been in love, he knew that it was most likely true that Bella would never again chose him. Bella would never again chose to love Jacob over Edward, because for Bella, seventeen was an eternity ago.
"Yeah," Jacob agreed with a grin. He was being his old happy self. Okay, so some of it was acting, but could you blame the kid? Had you recently had your heart smushed on the ground into a million little pieces? No, you hadn't. So acting was all right with Jacob if that's how it had to be. Jacob snickered at Angel's question, though he didn't do it loudly. Jake was trying to be nice, at least. "This is a river. There's no tides on the river," he assured her.

Angel sighed and nodded. "It's a long story... I was fifteen and in love. Things just happened. I regret them now, but at the time I couldn't have been happier. I never was married to him, but we were as close as married, I suppose. I left him behind. There's no point in dwelling over the past, as you've probably heard me say before. If you're in love with someone and he moves on, you have to move on with it. You can't just mope about. Go out. Either find someone else or be more than happy on your own. Hell, I'm single after the one I love left me and I'm perfectly happy," she said, a huge smile on her face just to prove that fact. Sure, she'd like it if she did have someone, but she wasn't about to go and looking for someone.
"It's okay, you can laugh at me," she said, laughing at herself for her stupid mistake. "I make enough stupid mistakes for everyone to laugh at. I don't care..." She explained, shrugging her shoulders. Angel was glad that she did stupid things sometimes. It meant other people laughed, and as long as other people were happy, she was happy. Therefore, she actually enjoyed being an idiot most of the time. [/blockquote]

Jacob knew that must of been hard for Angel to share with him. He nodded his head as he listened to her quiet words. "Thank you for sharing that with me," he told her. The tone in his voice was the most sincere it had ever been. He wasn't one to judge. He wasn't one to tell someone that they were living their life wrong - at least they were living it. "I think that you're right, too. You've just gotta live life and make the best of it. No one can judge you as long as you try."
"Sorry," he apologized. He was sorry; it wasn't nice to laugh at someone. "It's nice down here. Even though I prefer First Beach on the Rez, it's definitely quieter here. I was surprised to even see anyone down here," Jacob admitted. He had been looking for a solitude that La Push couldn't provide. Instead he found Angel. That was okay by him.

Angel shrugged. She didn't mind telling her story, as it sometimes helped others through tough times. Maybe if they realised that their life wasn't so bad, they'd be happier and that's all that Angel really wanted; other people to be happy. She then nodded in agreement to what he said. It made sense, and she actually did agree to the point he had made. It was definitely something to remember for the future, and hopefully she could tell someone the same thing and help them.
"I'm sorry if you came here for some peace and quiet. I can leave if you want me to... I didn't mean to intrude. And you don't have to apologise," she said, laughing a little. "I've already told you I don't mind. I laugh at myself a lot of the time." Angel would have hugged him to let him know it was okay, but she remembered that he didn't really like that so she stopped herself and just gave him a friendly smile instead. It was odd for Angel, not being able to hug someone. Back home, everyone just hugged each other all the time. Still, she couldn't ask him to change himself just because Angel liked hugging people. That would be stupid. [/blockquote]

[sorry, sorry!]
"No, no, you don't have to leave. You look like you were enjoying yourself, before I barged right in. Sorry - that was rude of me. It's just... I'm not used to other people coming here. It's not secret, per say, but it's not like everyone comes running to come swimming in the river," Jacob explained with a shrug. He gave her a careless smile, one that showed his semi-reckless side. One that showed his dangerous side. "I should get going anyway," Jacob said with a sigh. "Billy'll be wondering where I got myself to..." His father was paranoid (for good reason) that Jacob was gonna run away again. He had screwed that one up.
"Do you need a ride home?"
