Nothing needed to be done in the house -which was empty- and it was one of those rare sunny days in Forks, though not one golden beam of the light penetrated the protective, green canopy of the forest where she walked. And so it was with nothing to occupy her mind that Esme drifted soundlessly through the trees. glancing around at the thick woods that usually teemed with life. Today, nothing stirred. The normal sounds of the creatures that lived here, under the emerald shade of the protective forest canopy, seemed absent today. A slight breeze ruffled her long, wavy hair as she drifted aimlessly about, bringing with it the scents of the now dormant woodland creatures.
She sighed, a small smile on her lips as she sat down on a fallen log, covered in moss, as was nearly every other trunk in the vast woodland. The silence of the forest was not uncomfortable - the peace it brought was a welcome relief from the constant tension that now seemed to hang everywhere in the Cullen home, since Edward hadn't exactly been ecstatic when one of the Volturi, Jane, joined the Cullen family. And that was understating it; he thoroughly loathed the little creature, and the hostiliy that rolled of Edward in waves made Esme uneasy and uncomfortable. She was unused to such a malevolent aura. The forest seemed to ease those sensations -it had always been a favorite retreat of hers- and now she found herself calm, alert. It was easy to think here in the quiet forest.
Esme glanced around the woods again, out of sheer boredom though nothing caught, or held, her attention for long. Nothing she thought of, or pondered, occupied her mind today; it seemed overactive when there was no one about to keep her company. To distract herself, she wondered idly where Carlisle and what he was doing. Esme picked at a loose thread in her otherwise immaculate clothing, bored.
occ// I know, it sucks, and it's kinda rushed and it seems... choppy. It just doesn't.. flow. Ick. >.<

Jane let her head thingy to the side slightly as she searched for Esme. she had just wanted to talk, though she wasn't in the house today like all of the other Cullens. And truly Edward glared at her as she walk across the living room, the sun shining bright on his pale face. Why did he have to treat her so horribly? She apologized, she truly did everything she could, but he still seemed wary.
Jane let he feet softly thump against the ground as her quick steps made not a sound. Jane's Golden eyes glistened as she slowed smelling Esme's sweet scent. "Esme?" Jane asked her voice soft.

Esme had not really been paying attention to her surroundings; she had just eventually let her train of though wander wherever it wished, knowing it would not stay on any one topic for more than a few seconds. She sighed in bordom, and inhaled the damp air of the woods, only just then noticing the lingering smell of an approaching vampire. It wasn't a scent she easily recognized, so she immediately ruled out any of her family. Something clicked the moment she thought of family, and she realized the scent was from one of her family members, just not one of the more familiar ones.
"Esme?" A soft voice called just as Esme realized who it was. The musical voice drifted lazily toward Esme on a cool afternoon breeze. Her lips turned up at the corners into her ever present smile as her head swiveled unconsciously toward the lilting voice that was Jane's.
"Hello, Jane," She replied pleasantly, getting up from her spot on the moss-covered log and brushing the bits of vegetation that stuck to her clothes off. Her golden gaze fell last upon Jane's eyes; they were no longer the sinister, crimson orbs Edward described. They were now just the same shade of warm golden brown all the other's were when they were full. Seeing this, Esme wondered again what Edward's problem was with Jane was. She had apologized, and did keep her promise to follow a vegetarian diet like all the rest of the Cullens. But, Jane had caused much more trouble for Edward than she had for Esme. It would be difficult to see past that, especially for Edward, she decided... Esme smiled again, warm and inviting, at Jane.
"So, how are you finding life in Forks?" She asked, her tone conversational and warm as she drifted towards Jane gracefully, stopping a few feet from her tiny frame.

This was starting to get annoying now.The feeling of guilt for the fact that Edward most likely hated Him Why? because of Him allowing Jane to join Their Coven. Carlisle knew that He had done the right thing .If He had turned Jane away , He would probably be feeling a lot worse than He currently did , and Where would Jane have been able to go?Tanya and the Denali? Not likely. However , there was always the issue of Bella.. It seemed that none of the other Cullens had noticed how Carlisle was acting , and for that He was thankful.Esme might have noticed though.. Edward seemed to be having an effect on Jane as well.
Carlisle was leaning against a tree in the forest , enjoying the stillness and peace of the area.It was nice to have this time to Himself.Looking down at His watch , He noticed how long He had been in this one area.About four hours. How time flied...
Two familiar voices could be heard through the trees.Esme and Jane's.Slowly , He started to make His way to where They were.
ooc//The above piece sucks.Sorry!!

Esme threw another of her frequent, warm smiles in Jane's direction, before turning away from her tiny frame to face the direction where another, familiar and soothing scent came from, drifting towards her without even the gentle breeze that usually ruffled the vegitation of the forest. She took a deep breath of the sweet smell, intertwined with Jane's, and sighed with pleasure. It was a scent she could recognize anywhere, -a familiar scent, one of comfort- because it belonged to Carlisle. Her lips curved up at the corners into another lovely smile, a special smile she saved especially for her husband. She searched the surrounding forest, the soft grey shadows -though they were not as pronouced here in the forest, where no sun pierced the protective emerald confines of the leafy canopy- for some sign of him.
"Carlisle?" She called out tentatively, in a soft, lilting voice, no louder than a tone of voice any human would use in normal conversation. She knew he would hear it easily with his heightened senses. She tilted her head to the side curiously, waiting for the moment her would appear out of the trees, her mood radiant at the thought of seeing his familiar, beautiful face. Esme's glance flickered briefly in Jane's direction before shifting it to the shadowy forest. Her golden gaze searched the trees again, expectantly, looking for some glimpse of his perfect, golden blonde hair among the sea of ever-present green foliage. She didn't bother listening for his approach, as she knew he would make no sound as he travelled over the twig-strewn forest floor.

"Hello Esme."Jane said smiling slightly. Watching Her stand looking around. Jane blinked for a moment a she smelled Carlisle's sweet scent come to her in a breeze. Where was he coming from? And why? Jane sighed, now she won't get to talk to Esme alone. Oh well, shell make time.

"Carlisle?" Esme's soothing voice echoed near Him , sounding as clear as if She were standing right next to Him.Carlisle couldn't help but smile as He made His way into the clearing , appearing a few minutes later. "Good morning Esme , Jane.."Carlisle paused to look at His watch. He'd lost track of time while He was out here."Well , actually it's afternoon.." He laughed slightly , before walking over to Esme , kissing Her shortly before speaking again. "I wasn't interrupting anything , was I?"He asked.

"Hello, Esme." Jane said, in a clear, soft voice. Esme turned towards her again, still smiling, as usual. Did she ever stop? ... No. Not really. She heard Jane's tiny sigh as she too, noticed Carlisle's scent. Esme's smile was lost in a tiny frown as she pondered Jane's barely audible sigh. Was she unhappy that Carlisle was coming? Why? Maybe she had just wanted to speak to Esme alone... She could understand that. Thet never really had talked alone. Esme smiled understandingly, all traces of the small frown gone.
"Hello, Jane," She returned the greeting amiably in her soft, warm voice; even she could easily hear the friendly smile in her voice. It was something she's gotten used to.
"Good morning Esme, Jane... Well, actually it's afternoon..." Carlisle's voice interrupted her thoughts, and she turned again to face him, wiping the frown off her face and replacing it hurridly with a smile. He walked, gracefully as ever, over to greet her with a kiss. She sighed when it ended, too soon, but her smile widened, her perfect ultrawhite teeth almost glowing in the darker forest. "I wasn't interrupting anything, was I?" He continued, his gaze flickering between Esme and Jane.
"No, you weren't... At least, I don't think so," Esme added uncertainly as she remembered Jane's sigh, flashing a worried glance at the tiny vampire's frame. She hoped that Jane wasn't dissapointed, or sad. It really bothered her when one of her family was unhappy, or sad. She bit her lip, confused. If Jane wanted to speak to her alone, she would make time; she was also eager to talk to the most recent to join her family.

Jane watched and listened closely to Esme, though she needed to leave her alone, let her do as she wished. Her fragile body hoped up in the tree making the leaves quiver slightly. Her ankles locked as she swung then back and forth looking at the sky. Would Esme even have an answer about Edward, would she even understand? she waited untill she was called, Carlise was more important, higher ranked to her, he would be called upon before anything would escape her mouth.

"No, you weren't... At least, I don't think so," Esme replied , a worried look upon Her sweet face.Carlisle's small smile dissapeared instantly.Oh , how He hated to see His wife like this, or upset , let alone any of His family. He gave Her a small smile , before walking over to the tree that Jane was sitting in.
"Is everything alright Jane?"Carlisle asked softly , looking up at where the young girl sat on a branch.
ooc//I'm sorry for the fact that it is short and that it basically just sucks.I have no brain cells right now as They seem to have gone on an EXTREMELY long vacation.

Carlisle smiled at her, before he turned toward a tree, looking up into the canopy. Esme cast a worried glance around her, wondering where Jane went. "Is everything alright Jane?" Carlisle asked, a worried look replacing the smile on his face as he looked up at the tree. Then, a flash of pale white from the canopy of the tree caught her sight, and she realized that Carlisle hadn't been talking to a tree after all; Jane was up there.
She drifted gracefully over to Carlisle, putting a hand on his shoulder, as she too gazed up into the tree where Jane sat, swinging her legs back and forth leisurely. Jane must have been discreetly giving Carlisle and Esme some time to talk, alone. Well, not really alone, since Jane would've been in earshot of their conversation, but uninterupted.
