trust me. you were better off dead, The future haunts with memories that I could never have -------------------------------------- . He saw himself as a monster or a creature without a soul. He was eternally damned. Would hell have been better? Of course not. For Bella wouldn't be there. Unless she were to murder some innocent townsfolk. Absurd. His Bella was too kind to do such a thing, not like he could say for himself. A smile lit his alabaster face at the very thought of Bella, it was only yesterday did he take her to the meadow. In his golden eyes, Bella was like an angel. An Angel that rescued him from the vast depths of eternal lonesomeness and misery. He would walk on broken glass for her. Though it wouldn't do any affect but perhaps put a few scratches on him. The trees aligning the dirt path seemed insignificant as Edward breezed past them, his shape only a steady, pale white. He was an odd highlight against the shade of the tree's. His glittering eyes were trained ahead as a familiar scent wafted up his nostrils. The scent being the cause of his pace. Volturi. The word was a feral snarl in his mind as he veered the bend in the path, coming to an abrupt halt against one of the tree's. The act of breathing had never left him even as he changed. It was a human trait he would continue with for as long as he lived among the shadows. Edward leaned his head back against the bark of the tree and exhaled sharply, the breath seeming as though it had pointed blades. It flew out of his mouth with intensely, his butterscotch eyes cautious. Bella. Almost immediately, his tense posture seemed to slacken into a more relaxed position while he leaned against the towering oak tree. The shade that the tree tops provided him concealed him in shadows, once again, his bone white skin noticeable mysteriously in the dark. They were here. The Volturi. But which one? The scent was so well-disguised but it had that sickly sweet smell to it, confirming that it was one of his kind. Though he had gotten used to the scent in the past century. And the wedding was just around the corner. Ah, yes. The wedding of Edward and Bella, the day that he had much anticipated for so long. However, he was sometimes displeased when Bella was a bit too reluctant to show her enthusiasm of the wedding. It was that one night did he propose to her again, and she approved of it. His mother's ring was the ring he had given to Bella for she didn't fancy expensive things. Bella was an odd girl, but perhaps that was why he was so fascinated with her? With everything that came out of her mouth? Or was it because she had the most amusing facial expressions? It definitely wasn't because she could get herself into any kind of danger, even when he was away..A serene sigh escaped his parted lips and he closed his eyes, letting himself calm into the peaceful thoughts of Isabella Marie Swan. Moments later, his eyes snapped open at the sound of wandering steps cracking the twigs of the forest floor. His eyes narrowed, his spine stiffening and muscles locking into place automatically. He went tense, eyes following the traces of the sounds. The scent of the Volturi was stronger now, as if they had ventured closer to his standing. His jaw was clenched as he warily stepped out of the shadows, side-stepping away from a brilliant shaft of golden light. Edward swallowed hard, oblivious to everything else besides the peculiar scuffling sounds. His eyebrows pulled together temporarily as nothing stepped out of the bushes like in the movies. A sort of sound, a grunt, emitted from his mouth. He rolled his eyes and let himself relax his posture faintly, though the strong scent of the Volturi lingered in the ever-lasting still air. One thing he was positive about. They were near. By now, most people would've assumed they should head back to their dwellings by now but Edward remained put. After all, he did return from his hunt and he wasn't quite prepared to enter his house full of his family member's thoughts. Or Alice's nagging and frequent questions about the Wedding. Honestly, he was grateful that she seemed to care so much but why did she have to..annoy him with pointless questions about it? It was infuriating. The woods was practically the only place he could escape to. Besides Bella's house..but he was almost sure she was busy doing something else. And Alice was dragging Bella around like a useless ragdoll. The Meadow. That was certainly an alternative but it didn't feel right without Bella being there, therefore, the woods was the only place left. What vampire wouldn't take solace in the comforting habitat of the woodlands? The shade, the foliage, the tree's...it was almost perfect. And it was welcome to any kind of visitor. Today was the day she had to come. Unlike the regular weather in Forks it was bright, sunny, warm. The sun let it's delicate rays float down touching every open space the invited it. But it was the things that filled this ever small towns forest that should scare the townsfolk. For the deadliest thing out there weren't bears, or over sized wolves anymore.
Jane's perfect crimson eyes scanned the surrounding area as the sun pleaded for her to enter it's warm depths. But Jane was far to close to her goal to let her /sparkling/ weakness give her away. Jane lurked in the shadows as the Cullen's scent became strong. Jane wrinkled her nose as she smelled the sweet smell of the vampire fused with the strong smell of animals. She knew that this was their way of eating, but though it was very, different.
Jane took in a deep breath as the scent of Edward raised her alarms. If Edward was close by, Bella couldn't be to far. Bella was the Cullen's little human doll, that the oldest son had fallen in love with. Jane shook her head once trying to get that out of her mind. Humans and vampires should never be together, it was inhuman.
Jane started to the smell of Edward, hoping that her job would be easy. Aro had sent her to check up on Bella. Her Human life should have been lost, damned. But Jane didn't trust the Cullen's. Something about Edward made her worry.
As she continued forward her footsteps become louder, Edward would want to know he was close. She heard Edward grunt and she stifled a giggle. Jane dropped her hood revealing the short brown hair that covered her head. "Edward."

trust me. you were better off dead, The future haunts with memories that I could never have -------------------------------------- I had a lot of typos in my last post. D: Oh well. ^^ The sounds did not leave. It only caused Edward to stiffen each time the scent blew into his face with more and more force as the seconds flew by. Luckily, the scent was becoming more and more pronounced. It was only Jane. One of the Volturi. Her power..was something else. He despised it so, he couldn't even conjure the terrified expression of Bella's face when Jane used her power against him. Ah, the illusion of pain wasn't something anyone fancied at all. He would proceed with caution, he told himself quietly in his head as he peered at the solid ground below his feet. His impossibly long eyelashes brushed at his defined cheeks, the scent stronger now. She was near, definitely. "Edward." The voice didn't surprise him to an extent. With profound caution, he angled his body to face Jane, eyeballing her pale face with his intense golden stare. " Hello Jane," He greeted curtly, his voice toneless of any welcoming. All he wanted to do was drive Jane out of Forks, away from Bella and away from the alternative of ruining the wedding. His honey-golden eyes raked over her chocolate brown hair, cropped short now. He refrained from her crimson eyes; for it would only drive him to a madder level of fury. " What do you want here?" He asked, his voice seeming more of a brusque hiss. The answer was too obvious though he denied it. Bella wasn't going anywheres with this demon sent from the deepest pit in hell. He would make sure of that. Edward was just as she remembered him. Aside from the way vampires remembered everything, Edward was different, hard to forget. His deep golden eyes her oddly soft for a vampires as his bronze hair fell softly on his head.
"Hello Jane,"
Jane nodded once before stepping into the area Edwards sent consumed. He was much taller than herself, though mostly everyone was. "What do you want here?" Jane let a gigle escape as he looked up to Edward with amused eyes. Knowing that if she wanted to use her power, it would be easy. "Bella." She said once knowing this already would be harder than it looked.

trust me. you were better off dead, The future haunts with memories that I could never have -------------------------------------- ? Then again, Jane did act in a very childish behavior. His pale face remained compose until one word shattered his mask. "Bella." " No!" A wild growl ripped from his throat, sounding like a cracking whip. " You won't touch her!" He snarled, his lip curling over his bared, glistening teeth. If Jane ever harmed Bella, he would be sure to rip her head off. His muscles locked together, his hands balling up into fists. " No, No, No!" He repeated, growling still. His eyes blared with hatred as he glared as Jane, straining himself. Don't attack her, he reminded himself grimly. If he did in fact lunge at her, she would have him on the ground, writhing in pain, before he even touched her. Her power was something to be hated by all species. Luckily, Bella was immune to it like she was immune to his powers and Aro's. He raised his eyes to peer into Jane's crimson orbs, " If you harm her, I will kill you." He threatened darkly. [/blockquote] [/ul]

Jane blinked once as his rage it her at once. The fire within him growled to life like no other. His snarls rippled past her like waves crashing onto a beach. Jane's cerise eyes were amused as she had really hit a nerve. She had known that speaking her name would bring something to him. A weird face, a snarl or two, but nothing of this high altitude.
"You won't touch her!"
Jane raised her eyebrows slightly at his comment. "Why would it matter if I touched her Edward? She has been changed right?" She asked. Her perfect white hands came out of the slits in the long sleeves of her robe. Good for her, the sun wasn't shining on them. But almost automatically after she spoke, he spoke again. Pure furry in his voice.
"If you harm her, I will kill you."
Jane tilted her head to the side smiling sharply,"Every time you speak Edward, It seems more and more likely she hasn't been changed." Breaking Jane off in mid-topic was a gust of wind the grabbed her robes, flailing them in the air."And in any sense." Jane continued, pushing her hair behind her ears, "You wouldn't touch me." Jane said eying Edward.

trust me. you were better off dead, The future haunts with memories that I could never have -------------------------------------- Damn. He had forgotten about that. Edward furrowed his eyebrows and swallowed hard, lifting his chin to glare into her eyes. " It matters to me. You won't touch her, Jane." He muttered, a hint of a feral growl detected in his voice. She had hit the nerve. Right int he perfect spot too. Had she planned this? Had she known how he would react and used it against her advantage with prying, smart questions? Ah, clever. But he could easily talk himself out of this, right? "Every time you speak Edward, It seems more and more likely she hasn't been changed." He narrowed his eyes into slits and tightened his jaw, reminding himself that a battle wouldn't be the best idea right now. The temptation lingered however, much to his displeasure. The last thing anyone needed right was two fighting vampires. Ah, great. The wings of desire seemed to welcome him as if he were an old friend, though, he just looked at Jane wordlessly for a moment. He straightened up, towering over Jane's frail frame and muttered bitterly: " It takes time. You don't understand," His eyes were as if they were stones, forever cold. "And in any sense." Jane continued, pushing her hair behind her ears, "You wouldn't touch me." She seemed smug now. As if she were entirely positive that he would launch himself at her. A low feral grow built up deep within his chest, almost as if he were groaning in frustration. Edward glanced up at the tree-tops, almost begging for someone else to come along and help him drive Jane off. Just as long as that person wasn't Bella. He frowned slightly at her assumptions. " So you assume," he mumbled audibly but continued on grimly, "And you won't touch Bella." That was final. [/blockquote] [/ul]

Jane could almost hear the snap of his teeth as he ground his teeth come together. Was it a look on her face? But he was calming down. 'That could be good and bad,' she thought.
"It matters to me. You won't touch her, Jane."
Jane giggled slightly, "And your, going to stop me?" Jane shook her head before she looked to the sky. It was bright, horrid weather for vampires. But to others, this would be the best time for the humans to walk around, hike. Jane covered her eyes as she looked back to Edward.
"It takes time. You don't understand,"
"Think that it matters, time." Jane said taking a step closer, " We gave you enough time, you just didn't take it Edward." Jane confirmed. "Now you've left us no choice. " Jane continued.

trust me. you were better off dead, The future haunts with memories that I could never have -------------------------------------- A low growl built up within him but he held it down, slapping a forced smile onto his pale face. " More or less," He agreed brusquely, narrowing his eyes and furrowing his eye brows together as he straightened up into a more poised posture. He would stop her. That was pretty clear. He would die for Bella, he wouldn't let anything happen to her. He wouldn't. And Alice would see if anything came for Bella, right? Obviously not. For if his sister had foreseen this meeting, she would've warned him before hand. Hmm. Oh well, perhaps this meeting wasn't decided. If it wasn't decided, therefore Alice wouldn't have saw it. This unfortunate meeting was just...highly impromptu. Edward followed her gaze suspiciously as the tiny girl looked up to the sky, the sun blazing it's golden light. A sigh emitted from his parted lips and he ducked his head from the sunlight and trained his brass orbs on Jane again. "Think that it matters, time." Jane said taking a step closer, " We gave you enough time, you just didn't take it Edward." Jane confirmed. "Now you've left us no choice. " Jane continued. That struck another nerve. He side stepped away from her, growls spitting out from his mouth wildly in a loud disarray. His eyes blared with the intense heat of hate, his lips curling above his bared teeth. No doubt was he ready to fight this girl. Straining from a fight was long-gone now. He had enough with her aimless mind games with him and everybody else. " No choice? That's absurd! Have you ever considered that perhaps I'm planning to very soon? Maybe you've forgotten that this is a civil community I live in and I can't randomly bite her at any time I please. The timing has to be perfect so no one gets suspicious. Now, you wouldn't want to risk out secret, would you? To the whole town?" He spat the word 'bite' out as if it were filthy trash. Ah, yes, his words had better keep Jane quiet for he was tired of her pointless rambling. [/blockquote] [/ul]

"More or less,"
She watched Edward straiten up, giving him a tall, noble stance. Jane blinked away from the sun as she just shook her head, at Edwards comment. That more or Less, would not be smart of him. His topaz eyes glared at her as his bronze hair glistened in the light.
Then her words struck him like a match once more as his eyes came to life once more. Jane sidestepped as he did cocking her head to the side slightly.
"No choice? That's absurd! Have you ever considered that perhaps I'm planning to very soon? Maybe you've forgotten that this is a civil community I live in and I can't randomly bite her at any time I please. The timing has to be perfect so no one gets suspicious. Now, you wouldn't want to risk out secret, would you? To the whole town?"
Jane Growled, "You had a choice Edward. You said she would be changed by the time we looked you guys up again, and you took it. If it was truly because of this rubbish about people being suspicious you would have let us change her then and there." Her eyes held fury as her tiny body was composed.

trust me. you were better off dead, The future haunts with memories that I could never have -------------------------------------- Edward narrowed his eyes coldly and hissed through gritted teeth, " Three days, Jane. Three days. She had to get back. Did you also forget how long it would take to train her? Jane, she's not going to be changed as a civilized vampire. It takes about a year and that would be too long there and then. The timing has to be absolutely perfect." The words weren't accurate, but he covered the lie up easily with his earnest voice. Edward glanced in the direction towards the Cullen house, the place where Bella should be right now. Hopefully. He knew he could outrun Jane anytime but would she stop him with her power and get to Bella first? [/blockquote] [/ul]

Jane growled at the way he spoke her name. It almost wasn't right. Jane straightened her body helling the weight of the crouch on her back. Edward was trying to out smart her, he wanted more time. And why give him that? Jane asked her left and she felt Edwards trained eyes searching her face.
"Edward," Jane started, her voice hard." I was sent here for one reason. To check on Bella." She said using her arms to emphasize." Aro gave me direct orders to change her myself if you didn't do it yourself." Jane said crossing her arms. "She isn't changed, is she."

trust me. you were better off dead, The future haunts with memories that I could never have -------------------------------------- A sharp sigh blew out of his parted lips and he slowly straightened from his feral position, narrowing his eyes bitterly as his intense gold stare bore at Jane like death rays. With a deep inhale of steadiness, he responded serenely. " Sorry, Jane. I can't tell you that right now." His eyes were cold stones and he angled his body towards his residence. It would be fair if he ran, right? Jane would probably chase him but he could easily outrun her if it wasn't for her powers. [/blockquote] [/ul]

This had never happened before to her, such defiance. The Volturi had a high name, and every one knew to obey. But this was way out of hand. Jane was completely and utterly shocked as dropped into a crouch where he was still about her her head. For once Jane was actually frightened. Pure terror rippled through her, though her face kept composed. He could kill her, with a twitch of his jaw.
But the question was would he truly pounce? Physically he could, hard and strong. Mentally, who knew. She could tell by the look on his perfect face, and by the glare in his golden eyes that he could and would. Inside was, hopefully, a different idea. He knew that if he even laid a hand on her the Volturi would be after him, and his family. But was that worth his little toy? Was hurting her better that keeping his family safe?
Jane kept her crimson eyes one his golden ones as he straightened. Jane raised an eyebrow slightly as he got up, a sharp sigh parting his lips. "Sorry, Jane. I can't tell you that right now."
Jane looked at Edward with shocked and anger filled eyes. This was wrong, him telling her what she was going to know? Then two options came to her. And snagged the first one that came to mind. "Fine," Jane said turning. "If I have to go find out myself I will." This was a risky move turning her back to Edward, but she needed this. She started her steps to where bella's scent was leading her.

trust me. you were better off dead, The future haunts with memories that I could never have -------------------------------------- that she was scared of him. Though he hardly favored acting like this. It was just towards them did he let this behavior shine on the outside. "Fine," Jane said turning. "If I have to go find out myself I will." A bitter growl emitted from his lips as Jane turned her back to him. This would be easy. Quick and easy. She wouldn't even feel a thing, all he would have to do is graze her neck with his pointed teeth. But a stronger danger was looming. Bella. The word swayed endlessly within his mind and he tightened his muscles, his eyes staring at the back of Jane's small head. His lip curled over his teeth as he deliberated. Bella wouldn't die, he would make sure of that. If it would be last act of his. She won't die. Not yet. He had made a promise to her and he would keep it. He had to. As Jane started to take her first steps, a feral growl ripped out of his mouth from his chest. " No, wait." He snarled, taking a single step after her. " Don't do this," He sidetracked, racking his mind for anything else he could use to his advantage. The only positive thing to do was run. So he thought. So he did. Edward narrowed his eyes and angled his head so he could look towards the direction of the Cullen's residence. Bella should be there. Everyone should. If he could run fast enough, he could tell Alice to hide Bella. A sigh escaped his lips before he took forth, running at full-speed; the trees zooming past him in a complex blur. He was miles from his house however. But he could outrun Jane before she used her powers, right? [/blockquote] [/ul]
